This story has both of those along with he, himself. |
A holiday song and story has come to his attention and he wants to know if he has been naughty or nice because his new patron sain, Nicholas, is watching him. After listing his deeds and finding his has little chance to be on the good list, he decides to embark on a bucket list of things to do to try and turn his personal tide. This was written simpy to amuse Mr. Hudson and must not be considered a great literary work! It is, however, a good spoof if you have every read one of the Sax Rohmer books. THIS IS NOT A BOOK FOR KIDS. IT DEALS IN FRANK, ADULT SUBJECT MATTER. The book includes some of BI's own words from her diary as a teenage girl, a memory she shares of her young adult life when she has a crisis of identity, and a biography of her adult life as she makes peace with herself and the world at large, finds true love, and lives her life trying to help others. Some material deals with gender identity, parents who think someone else can "fix" a child who doesn't fit the mold they think they should inhabit, and features a few, mild, scenes of a sexual nature. |
The following is a side-by-side example of the German to English literal translation and what he eventually wrote using that as a starting point (which is what Ackerman, et al, did.) It may be interesting to note Tom doesn't speak or read German! The basic translation was done with an application on the Internet. CLICK HERE to view a short demo of that frustrating experience.
